We may be reading Russia wrong
Russia is sending increasingly old military equipment into battle. That may look like evidence of decline, but there is a longer-term risk, argues Erik Åkesson.
As Russia exhausts its Soviet-era stock of weapons and ammunition, it is also rebuilding its military-industrial capacity. Decades from now, Russia could emerge with a more modern army, while Europe is still relying on much of the equipment it has today.
